Back Catalogue
Hey guys! I've just joined the board, and this is my first post...
I've been following the Dirt since Tough Love - I was 14, and it was my first CD. I can't get enough, and I've been gradually collecting bits and pieces of the discography since then - saw you guys live in Broken Hill in '08, and at Adelaide BDO early this year. Ads, Adam, Raul and Dean (Rest in peace) - I love your work, and will always be coming back for more.
I really love the older tracks, too - but I can't seem to track down any of the old singles and EPs! Does anyone know anywhere I might be able to snag some?
And also, Adalita - do you have any ideas when you or the band will be hitting up Adelaide next?
Cheers - RocksandDirt x

Re: Back Catalogue
hey RocksandDirt
welcome to the board, glad to have you here.
Broken Hill hey, wow, that's wild!
Not sure where you could get the older tracks but maybe someone on the board could help you. Which ones were you looking for in particular? Send us a list maybe...
The band are taking some time out from touring just for the moment.
But Raul has been busy with his two bands, Midnight Woolf and new band, River of Snakes.
I have also been busy with my solo stuff and will be touring next year when my album comes out.
I'm hoping to get to Adelaide with my solo show.
If you want to keep up to date with all the news from Magic Dirt and everyones various projects just email us at: [email protected] and ask to subscribe to our mailing list.
And here are all our various sites.
Look forward to seeing you out on the road sometime soon, cheers!

They're getting harder and harder to come by!
eBay's your best bet. But they're getting more and more expensive. Sparrow 7" for $300...!@#$ me, I think I paid $20 from the Au Go Go shop many moons ago!
If you're after mp3s, I'm sure I can upload some somewhere. Like Adalita said, give us a list fo what you want!
If you're after the actual releases, eBay or second hand record stores. Places in Melbourne are usually the best, I've found. Usually not much to be found in Adelaide!

Re: Back Catalogue
Thanks! I've heard some of Raul's bands' work on youtube - its going well! And I'm looking forward to your solo release too, Ads - I must admit I already have it preordered.
As for a list... Well, all I have at the moment are hard copies of Tough Love, Snow White, Beast, Girl and Roky's Room... I have What Are Rockstars Doing Today ordered and on its way, and I have my CD Guy tracking down a copy of Young and Full of the Devil.
Alas, the problem with not being able to get a hold of the older tracks, is that I haven't heard a whole lot of them - aside from what I've heard at gigs, or have been able to find on youtube. Of the tracks I don't have yet, I really love Babycakes, She-Riff, Redhead, Ice and Smoulder... But anything at all you could help me out with would be fantastic.
I had put in a bid for the Sparrow 7", but I was out of the running at around $100 - being a uni student isn't conducive to affording out of print vinyl, unfortunately. Thanks for the eBay tip, fetid!
And Coedycakes - I would appreciate anything at all you could put up for me. The mp3s will be great, but I'm sure you could agree no match for holding the music in your hands. I think I might have to try to pick up some cheap flights to Melbourne and go on a second hand record store crawl!
Thanks for all your help already, guys!
Cheers,
RocksandDirt

Re: Back Catalogue
Friends In Danger is usually pretty easy to find. If you can't get a hold of it locally, you can definitely snag it from Red Eye or Waterfront online.
I'm really surprised that everything else pre-WARSDT is so elusive now. I remember buying the first two EPs way after they were released in my local crappy record store deep in the burbs. I only discovered MD when City Trash was released, so I did heaps of backtracking, but I found it pretty easy. I guess that was ages ago now. Far out. Time flies.
Anyway, I know it's a bit weird but give Amazon a go as well. It turns up some interesting stuff sometimes. You'll probably find heaps of secondhand copies of the US self titled release, which has all the tracks off both Signs Of Satanic Youth & Life Was Better squished onto one CD.

Re: Back Catalogue
Good news! I just won an auction on eBay for Signs of Satanic Youth on vinyl. Only went for $60!
Baby steps, people... Baby steps!
